Texas A&M University's Transportation Services recently has been named the "Parking Organization of the Year" by the International Parking Institute.
This marks the first time a university has been awarded the title.
The award was given to A&M based on its "leadership and innovative solutions for the industry," IPI officials said when making the announcement.
In the past, A&M's Transportation Services has received recognition for being an industry leader in the areas of customer service, marketing, traffic operations and parking systems technology.
