| Assignment Process Changes |
(effective Fall 2009)
Undergraduate students assigned to park in University Center Garage beginning on or after July 15, 2009 will be issued permits designated as "UCX" and will not be afforded parking privileges on home football game days. Customers may leave their vehicles with UCX permits in the garage beginning the day before the game but may not re-enter on game day.
(effective Fall 2008)
Non-resident undergraduate students currently assigned to park in Northside Garage,
Southside Garage, Lot 40 or Lot 30 will not be eligible to renew these permits;
customers in this situation may register for the permit they have for the current
year but will not be guaranteed to renew. They will be added to the list according
to the priority assignment process, option #5 which reads:
Current parking permit holders, who request to be assigned to a different lot, and
who register via the web by July 15, 2009. Assignments will
be made in this priority category in current class standing order on a space available
basis.
Non-resident undergraduate students with West Campus Resident permits will not be
eligible to renew these permits; these customers may still obtain a permit for West
Campus Garage but will not be issued the resident permit that affords home football
game day parking. |
| Business/Campus Permit Changes |
(effective Spring 2009)
Due to the increase in demand for employee parking in Lots 70 and 79, university business permits and university vehicle parking is no longer allowed. Customers with business or campus permits or those driving a vehicle marked as university property and a four digit vehicle number may park in the next available lot or space designated for university business parking. University Business Parking
Lots 61, 64, and 74 are business lots in this area of campus that usually have available space. A few university business spaces with two hour time limits are available in these lots.
(effective Fall 2008)
University Business permits parking in the Northside Garage and the University Center Garage will be moved from the visitor level to the unnumbered spaces ABOVE the second level gates. This provides additional space for business permits and allows for more visitor parking for university guests.
Parking in designated University Business spaces on N. Spence Street and Ireland Street will be limited to 2 hours to increase turnover and make the spaces more readily available for short term business parking needs. Longer term business parking in this area is available in the Northside Garage and lots 47, 50, and 51;
Business permits will not be valid in designated service spaces or for extended parking in loading docks. This will enhance access for persons providing essential services to facilities. This change will also reduce the number of vehicles parked in bike lanes and on sidewalks. |
