Parking in Gated Facilities

Numbered space parking is on the second and third levels of the Northside Garage and on the second and third levels of the University Center Garage. Unnumbered parking spaces begin on the third level of the Northside Garage and on the fourth level of the University Center Garage. In West Campus Garage and Southside Garage permit holders may park in the first available space. More on garage parking

Gated Facility Access Help

To access the gated facilities, you may use ONE of the following (you may change your preferred method by logging into your account):

  1. Swipe your permit
  2. Swipe your TAMU ID card
  3. Use a hands-free transponder (see chart)

The annual permit or Aggie ID should be swiped top to bottom with the magstripe facing the right as shown below:

How to place TransCore transponder in vehicle

Important Things to Know

  1. It is necessary to use your access device in the PROPER ORDER: IN the garage, IN your assigned level, OUT of your assigned level, and OUT of the garage
  2. Customers are allowed 15 minutes to travel between the gates of the garage and the gates of their assigned level when entering and exiting the facility
  3. Customers may use their PERMIT and AGGIE ID CARD and HANDS-FREE TRANSPONDER. Only one vehicle will be able to enter at a time regardless of which device is used
  4. Customers who previously had a hands-free transponder were sent a new device for use in the University Center Garage. If you have not received your new device, please email , call 979.862.7275, or visit 108 Koldus
  5. All customers (including students) with permits for the University Center Garage are now eligible to purchase a hands-free transponder for $25
  6. Customers with toll tags from Austin, Dallas, or Houston may have their toll tag activated to open the gates in the University Center Garage. Provide your UIN, toll tag number, and city that issued the toll tag to us by emailing .

How to place TransCore transponder in vehicle

  1. Pull up to the card reader. The light will be red.
  2. Swipe your Aggie ID or annual permit as shown above.
  3. The light will change to green and the gate will raise.
