Doug Williams speaks to Groesbeck Lions Club

Doug Williams of College Station was the speaker for the Groesbeck Lions Club on Wednesday, February 17. The speaker was introduced by Roy DeFriend, the program chairman for February.

Williams is the brother of Roy and Morris DeFriend. Williams is a 1977 graduate of Groesbeck High School and a graduate of Texas A&M University. He has worked for Texas A&M for thirty-three years, and he is currently the director of Transportation Services.

In his talk Williams noted that the seating capacity of Kyle Field on the A&M campus had been increased to 102,000. One of the concerns Doug Williams speaks to Groesbeck Lions Club of the Transportation Services department at A&M was to develop a plan to accommodate the much larger crowds at the A&M football games. Williams explained the various plans which were developed to help the traffic flow easier during the times of these football games.

Various friends of the speaker were happy to welcome him back to Groesbeck.
