TS should consider students' situation

I would like to say that I am sick and tired of being harassed by the transportation department. They are so set on giving tickets that they seldom, if ever, consider the situation of the college student. For example, this Sunday when I returned to College Station, I parked my car on the side of the rode near Clements Hall, much like I had many times before, and had seen many other people do. It was parked with the warning lights on and as close to the curb as possible. I helped my girlfriend carry her luggage up the stairs and then collected some of my things from her room. When I returned, I found that I had a $40.00 ticket to pay, for "Bike Lane Violation." I believe that helping a young lady carry her things up the stairs is the right thing to do in this situation and believe that many other Ags would have done the same thing. But, because of this racket, I must spend some of my valuable time appealing this ticket. So, thank you transportation department for ruining my day and wasting my time.

Those who don't follow rules have no room to complain

I would like to say that I am sick and tired of students breaking the law and then complaining about it. The fact that Mr. Littlefield saw other people breaking the law does not make it acceptable for him to do so, and the bike lane regulation is in place so that bicyclists (who people complain about on the sidewalk) are not forced to veer out into traffic to avoid parked vehicles. Had your vehicle's presence in the lane caused a bicyclist injury, you'd have a lot more to worry about than 40 dollars and some small amount of time. While there are legitimate complaints to be made about ticketing by Transportation Services, the inconvenience it causes for the lawbreaker is not a valid concern.
