COVID-19 parking and transit updates

The Texas Parking & Transportation Association – TPTA Annual Conference and Tradeshow was held at the Hilton College Station & Conference Center Tuesday through Thursday, with Texas A&M University’s Transportation Services help to host it.
More than 200 parking professionals attended the three-day conference, which included a variety of activities, such as educational sessions, vendor exhibits and roundtable discussions. The Association for Commuter Transportation also met here Monday in conjunction with the TPTA meeting.
Texas Parking & Transportation Association President Dean Ahmad said that “the parking industry is just like any other business.” Different businesses, including universities and hospitals, attend parking conferences in order to make the parking experience easier for their customers. “People who don’t know this industry would be amazed at the amount of technology,” Ahmad added.
Different vendors from all over the country attended the TPTA conference to showcase to potential clients the different types of technology, from smart garages to mobile apps, the parking industry has to offer.
The company OTW Safety designs and provides unique barricades and equipment and specializes in event Safety and Security. OTW Safety Senior Sales Associate Terry Rose said that the TPTA conference and tradeshow is well known in the parking industry. “This conference allows vendors to have access to universities and senior executives in the parking industry. Business wise it was good for the company to attend this event,” Rose added.
