Major/Essential Duties of Job

The Transit Supervisor – Nights is responsible for assisting with the daily operations of the campus transit system, monitoring routes, coordinating drivers and buses, assisting customers, supervising charters, and responding to accidents for the night hours. This supervisor will be responsible for making all operational decisions from 4:30 pm to 1:00 am, Monday – Friday.

Occasional Duties

Required Education and Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience. Four years in progressively responsible positions including two years of supervisory and customer service experience. Valid vehicle operator’s license and good driving record. Must be able to obtain State of Texas class “B” vehicle operator’s license (Commercial Driver’s License with passenger endorsement and air brakes endorsement) within 60 days of employment. Ability to work with little to no supervision/oversight due to late shift schedule. Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation applications. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to handle busy phones, 2-way radio, and office traffic, and to perform time-critical tasks reliably. Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Preferred Education and Experience

High school graduation supplemented by completion of formal or practical vocational training or associate’s degree. Supervisory experience with a transit agency. Valid State of Texas class “B” vehicle driver’s license (Commercial Driver License) with passenger endorsement and air brakes endorsement.
