Paking Access & Maintenance Student Technician
Work Days/Times
Monday thru Friday between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM (3-4 hour blocks)
Major/Essential Duties of Job
• Assist in the installation, maintenance and repair of parking control, video and audio equipment. • Assist in preventative maintenance of equipment, minor repairs, running conduit, pulling wire, cleaning equipment • Troubleshooting computer/network issues and related tasks • Pay Rate: $13.00/hour, Special Event shifts will be paid at $18.00/hour except for Football shifts paid $20.00/hour. • Preference will be given to students participating in the First-Gen High Impact Experience program offered through the Routh First-Generation Center. Qualifications
• Have the ability to learn and perform tasks efficiently and effectively • Must be able to work independently given instruction on desired outcome • Must be able to lift 30 pounds • Must have a valid Texas driver license • Must be enrolled as a student for a minimum of 9 hours per semester excluding (Summer Session) at TAMU, Blinn, Sam Houston, etc. • Must work an average of 12 hours per week during the Fall and Spring Semesters • Must work a minimum of 7 special events during the fall and 1 during the spring in addition to the minimum of 12 hours worked per week.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience with hand tools, wiring and electronic repair is a plus.
Other Instructions
At times necessary to access small and/or dirty spaces (e.g. manholes) to make repairs to wiring.
Salary
$13.00/hr (eligible for student employee pay plan)
