Sustainable Transportation- Student Worker

Work Days/Times

Monday - Friday: 8 am to 5 pm (flexible schedule)

Major/Essential Duties of Job

• During the semester, Monday-Friday, flexible schedule, between hours of 8:00am - 5:00 pm. • Must work the week after graduation in the fall semester at a minimum. • Must work the two weeks after graduation in the spring semester at a minimum. • Must return to work no later than the first work week in August for the fall semester. • Must return to work no later than the work week before the spring semester begins. • Summers are not required, but highly encouraged. • Must work an average of 12 hours per week during the Fall and Spring Semesters. • Assist with Sustainable Transportation initiatives on campus. • Execute bike program procedures. • Remove and install bike racks. • General tidying of bike share assets on campus. • Reporting areas with too many or too few bikeshare assets in Slack for rebalancing by Veo employees. • Reporting and rebalancing of errantly parked Veo assets. • Car share monitoring. • Starting salary will be $11.00/hour. $11.50/hour after training is complete. Non-Football events will be $18.00/hour. Football Game Days only will be $20.00/hour. • May be eligible for priority registration as a student employee (Texas A&M students only). • Preference will be given to students participating in the First-Gen High Impact Experience program offered through the Routh First-Generation Center. Qualifications

• Must have strong people, verbal and written skills. • Must have the ability to learn and perform tasks efficiently and effectively. • Must have a valid United States driver's license. • All student employees are required to work a minimum of 10 Special Event Credits (work 6 in the Fall and work 4 in the spring). • Must be enrolled as a student for a minimum of 9 hours per semester (excluding Summer Session) at TAMU, Blinn, Sam Houston, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

• Customer service skills are a plus. Experience towing a trailer is a plus. • Experience working on bicycles a plus.

Other Instructions

• Must be able to ride a bike. • Must be able to lift and move bikes weighing up to 40 lbs. and bike racks weighing 50 lbs. This is to be expected. • Must be comfortable with power tools such as angle grinder, hammer drill, and engraver. • Will be required to provide class schedule.

Salary

$11.00/hr (eligible for student employee pay plan)
