Position Title

GIS Intern (Spring 2024 semester)

Work Days/Times

Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm. 40 hr/week required.

Major/Essential Duties of Job

• Assist in the day to day mapping responsibilities in the GIS area. • Help maintain geographical information relating to the campus base map. • Help with the creation of campus event specific maps. • Use survey equipment for accurate changes to campus base map information. • Maintain database information about geographical features in campus GIS. • Assist in the development of new parking lots and/or streets and proposed changes to existing parking lots and campus streets. • Assist in the development of maps for routing event traffic, buses or special needs as required

Qualifications

• General knowledge of computers required. • General knowledge of GIS. • Must have a valid driver's license. • All student employees are required to work a minimum of 10 Special Event Credits (work 6 in the Fall and work 4 in the spring). • Hours for this position are Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm. Since this is an internship, this position is required to work 40 hours per week.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of ESRI ARCMap & ARCPro. • Knowledge of computer programming/scripting (Python, Javascript) • Knowledge of GPS surveying and principles.

$16.00/hr/hr (eligible for student employee pay plan)
