Construction on Texas A&M’s next parking garage starts in March.
That follows approval of a $78 million dollar project at Thursday’s board of regents meeting.
Parking lot 50 next to the emerging technologies building will be the location of the five story Polo Rd. Garage that will hold nearly 1,700 vehicles.
And the system’s facilities director, Russ Wallace, says the project includes a second multiple story building that will have a recreation center, a food court, and space for students, faculty, and staff to gather.
Completion of the garage is expected in July of next year, and in October of next year for the attached multipurpose building.
Polo Rd. Garage follows the opening of the Cain garage in October 2016 and the west campus garage in 2003.
