BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - It’s going to be another busy weekend in the Brazos Valley.

The king of the country, George Strait, will hit the stage at Kyle Field Saturday, so it’s important to plan ahead whether you’ll be in the stands or not.

“It’s going to be more like a big SEC gameday with parking and the amount of traffic that’s here in town,” traffic engineer Debbie Albert said.

For those going to the concert, planning where you’ll park and securing that spot as soon as possible is important, according to Albert.

“All of the red areas are already sold out,” Albert said. “If you don’t have parking already, you’re looking at being on the outskirts of campus.”

The maroon areas indicate where those with Texas A&M parking permits can get a spot. Albert suggests being prepared to show the parking barcode to the attendant at the entrance.

“We’re also really encouraging them to have a second or a third choice in mind in case they happen to go to their preferred parking and it’s already full. That way they know where to head to next,” Albert said.

Another parking option is utilizing the free downtown Bryan shuttles. They’ll go between the Roy Kelly Parking Garage and the Memorial Student Center.

The shuttle will run three hours before the concert and one hour post show.

Starting at 2 p.m., pedestrian safety closures will go into effect on Joe Routt Boulevard, Houston Street, Olsen Boulevard and Old Main Drive.

More details on closures and parking can be found here.

Heavy traffic around Kyle Field can be expected starting around 5 p.m., according to Albert.

For those not attending the concert, the traffic expert recommends staying away from the heart of campus and utilizing Highway 6, FM 2818 and Highway 47.
