Who is eligible for disabled persons permits?

Texas A&M University does not issue disabled parking permits. Customers may take medical certification of disability to the tax office in their county to request a disabled parking permit or license plate.

Customers who have a valid county-issued disabled placard or license plate (including disabled veteran license plates) may park in any designated disabled parking space or any other non-restricted parking space, with a valid disabled placard/license plate displayed and a valid TAMU parking permit. Permits must be displayed to be authorized to park.

Disabled customers who do not have a valid TAMU parking permit but do have a valid county-issued disabled placard or license plate displayed may pay to park in any of our visitor parking facilities and make use of designated disabled parking spaces or other non-restricted parking spaces within the visitor facility.

The ONLY person authorized to park within the guidelines of the disabled policy detailed above is the person to whom the disabled parking permit/license plate is issued.

I will be enrolled for an out-of-town internship or co-op program next semester and will not need a parking permit until the internship is complete. What should I do?

When you return to TAMU, email and request a parking permit. After verifying your enrollment in a university-affiliated co-op/internship the previous semester, you will be assigned parking according to your classification and your parking preferences.
