COVID-19 parking and transit updates
The Texas A&M University System Board of Regents approved of a plan in January 2019 to construct a five-story parking garage and facility on the north side of campus.
Construction for the $78.4 million Polo Rd. Garage Project began March 2019 with substantial completion for the parking garage scheduled for June/July 2020 and December 2020 for the remainder of the project.
The newly initiated parking garage and building space will be approximately 616,400 gross square feet.
This includes 1,680 parking spaces for use by students, faculty, staff and visitors campus, and 70,400 gross square feet of shell space for Dining Services (17,200 sq ft),
Polo Rd. Rec Center (26,600 sq ft) and Transportation Services offices (26,600 sq ft).
The Dining Services will include; Shake Smart, Houston Subs, Panda Express, Salata and a grab n' go store.
The portion which will house offices and a dining facility is scheduled for completion in December 2020.
Polo Rd. Garage is being built on Polo Rd., between Lot 50 and the Emerging Technologies Building.

Polo Rd. Garage is scheduled to be completed and available to begin parking vehicles on August 15, 2020.

Customers with PRG permits may park in Lots 50 and
51 from August 9 – 15 while the garage is being completed.
Polo Rd. Garage (PRG) permits for the 2020-2021 academic year will cost $630.
PRG price is set at $100 more than other garages due to its location in the area of campus
with the highest unmet demand for parking and to cover the debt related to the cost of construction.
Customers who want to purchase permits to park in the area may be eligible to request nearby surface lots on a space available basis for $329.
Yes, visitor parking will be offered in PRG.
The visitor rate is scheduled to match the other visitor parking areas on campus.
