2020 Football RV Lot Rules

Below are the finalized rules for all RV Lots:
Lot 58, Aggie RV Park, R, Olsen Park, Penberthy, and Equine Complex

We have also included links for the general tailgating rules. Please take time to read these to ensure that your tailgating experience is as safe and enjoyable as possible.

The close configuration of RV Lots requires that our guests be good neighbors and conduct themselves in a manner that provides for the comfort and enjoyment of all. Persons to whom permits are issued, bearers and their guests are expected to be familiar with and abide by the RV rules published on Transportation Services' website. RV season permits are intended for use by the permit holder. Spouses may co-register as permit holders. Rules will be evaluated, reviewed and updated annually; particularly rules such as the decibel and attendance requirements may be adjusted to promote an enjoyable experience.

Space Use

  1. For 2020, four points are required to renew a season permit for the 2021 season.

    Customers who bring their RVs and check in with the Transportation Services lot attendant will receive 1 point for each game weekend they properly check in. Customers may co-register spouses as permit holders by contacting Transportation Services at (979) 862-2551. If your RV is not present or is parked inappropriately, you will not receive a point for that weekend.

    As an alternative, season permit customers may choose to place RV permits for sale or reissue (no later than Tuesday before the game) on the RV Exchange. Customers who place a season permit on the RV Exchange will receive 1/3 point for doing so (if the permit is withdrawn from the RV Exchange prior to sale the 1/3 point will not be awarded). If the permit is placed on the RV Exchange and does not sell, the customer will still receive 1/3 point only if the permit/space is not occupied on the game weekend. If the permit is not removed from the sale prior to the closing of the Exchange, the customer forfeits the right to use the permit for that game, but receives 1/3 point. If the permit is placed on the RV Exchange for reissue, the space must be occupied by an RV prior to kickoff in order for the season permit customer to receive 1/3 point. If the customer sells the permit on their own, no points will be awarded.

    Permit holders are required to present picture ID to the Transportation Services lot attendant either upon entry or at another time before kickoff in order to be considered checked-in. Customers arriving after night security personnel come on duty must wait until the following morning to check in with a Transportation Services lot attendant.
  2. No commercial use of RV permits is allowed. Permits may be sold for face value to individuals only and may not be included in a package deal representing any commercial entity.
  3. RV Lots are for Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) recognized recreational vehicles only. Transportation Services reserves the right to remove any vehicle that is not appropriate for the RV area. RV permits are for RVs only and may not be used for any other vehicles.
  4. Tailgating or parking a passenger vehicle in a designated RV space that is not occupied by an RV is strictly prohibited.
  5. Party buses, trailers, vans, keg vans, etc., that do not meet the definition of a recreational vehicle are prohibited in RV Lots, but are permitted in oversized Vehicle Sites on a space available basis.
  6. Tent camping or camping in RV/tow vehicle space, pickup trucks or vehicles not designated as RVs by TXDOT is prohibited.
  7. Tents or canopies must be secured and may not utilize stakes that penetrate the ground more than 12 inches; in addition, tents greater than 700 square feet or tents greater than 400 square feet with sides require a University inspection in accordance with University Policy. Tents may not obstruct sidewalks, drive lanes or pedestrian walkways.
  8. Every lot has specific opening/operational times. Anyone arriving prior to the designated check-in time without making arrangements in advance with Transportation Services will be required to pay a $75 early entry fee. Customers who purchased additional nights and need to cancel must provide 72 hours notice prior to the first day of the reservation to Transportation Services to receive a refund. Call (979) 862-2551 to make these arrangements.
  9. RVs must be parked within the boundaries of the assigned RV space according to the designated lot map and not encroach on neighboring spaces. RVs must be parked parallel to the painted parking lines to the left and right of the space as viewed from the drive lane.
  10. All sidewalks, drive lanes and fire lanes must be kept clear of all equipment and vehicles. Tailgating amenities including furniture, grills, generators, cords, satellite dishes, etc., must be confined to each allotted RV space and cannot be stretched across drive lanes.
  11. Available green spaces within 15 feet of parking lots are reserved for fans assigned to those parking lots.

Permit Resale

  1. Permits may be resold for FACE VALUE ONLY. Customers who resell permits above face value will become ineligible to purchase future RV permits.
  2. There are three options to transfer your RV space on an individual game basis to another customer:
    • OPTION 1: Arrange for the sale or transfer of the permit plus a copy of the rules to another person yourself.
    • OPTION 2: Arrange for Transportation Services to sell the permit to another person for you. Permit holders, who are unable to attend, may post their permits for sale by logging in on My Account and using the RV Exchange, no later than noon on the Tuesday prior to the game. Customers whose permits are resold by Transportation Services will receive a credit for 100 percent of the face value of the permit. Credits will be paid out no later than 2 months after the season’s end. A 25 percent handling fee will be charged to the purchaser of the permit. Originally issued permits placed on the Exchange and not removed from it prior to the Exchange closing for that game may no longer be used for entry into the lot. Purchasing customers will have their choice of the spaces available. Credit will be given only for spaces resold. Transportation Services will provide RV permits at check in to the online purchaser.
    • OPTION 3: Arrange for Transportation Services to transfer the permit to another person for you. No later than noon on Tuesday before the game, season permit holders unable to attend may provide the contact information (name and email address) of the person to whom they have agreed to transfer the permits. This can be done through Transportation Services online at My Account. Contact information allows us to provide RV Rules in advance of arrival and issue permits at check in to the new user of the space for you.


  1. All RV Lot patrons must display the appropriate permit for access and parking, vehicles not displaying the appropriate permit will be towed at the owner's expense. Do not attach permits until after you have checked in with the Transportation Services lot attendant.
  2. Duplication of and/or passback of tow vehicle permits to allow more than one vehicle in the lot at a time is prohibited.
  3. Violation of tow vehicle regulations by the permit holder or their guest may result in the cancellation of the permit and removal from the lot.


  1. Unless the generator used is an inverter-type it MUST have a noise abatement device so it is as minimally intrusive to your neighbors as possible. If your generator is so loud you face it away from your own site, it is too loud. A generator which produces a noise level that exceeds 75dB (measured from your neighbor’s space) is deemed too loud and disturbing to others. Owners will be required to make the generator conform to the approved decibel level, turn off the generator or leave the lot. (Note: Offenders will be given one warning with stipulations to comply with generator regulations.)
  2. Exhaust must be directed towards open areas such as tow vehicle spaces or drive lanes and always away from your immediate neighbor.
  3. Special care should be taken when managing fuel and extension cords affiliated with generators.

Responsible Conduct

  1. For their safety and the safety of others, children must be supervised by parents or their representatives at all times. Please use extreme caution when driving into or leaving the parking lots. Moving vehicles and the continuous flow of traffic presents various hazards that can cause bodily injury or harm to children at play in lots. Please be aware of the danger that exist.
  2. Please maintain a speed limit of 10mph or less while driving through the parking lots.
  3. Do not remove or move barricades, barrels, or any other traffic control devices. All signs and instructions for lots must be obeyed.
  4. No excessively loud music or noise will be tolerated at any time. If loud music or noise (e.g., barking dogs) becomes disturbing to others, you may be required to lower the music and/or noise level or cease it altogether. Live music or bands are prohibited. Please be courteous to others.
  5. Pets are not allowed to run at large in RV lots, tailgating sites or on campus and must be leashed or in a pen at all times according to local leash laws. Furthermore, animals shall not be left unattended or secured to university property. Clean up after your pet.
  6. The sale of food and/or beverages or other commercial activities (including sales solicitation or advertising) are not permitted without the express written consent of Texas A&M University.
  7. Texas A&M University, Texas A&M Athletics, University Police Department and Transportation Services Department reserve the right to refuse service to anyone at any time – inappropriate behavior will result in the permanent loss of all parking and tailgating privileges.

Barbecue Pits

  1. Locate cookers so smoke does not intrude upon your neighbors’ space. Please pay particular attention to wind direction and neighbors' open windows. A grill or smoker which "smokes out" a neighbor is deemed a nuisance; owners will be asked to move the grill or smoker to another location or to extinguish it.
  2. All BBQ grills, smokers and pits, propane or otherwise, must be attended to at all times. Smoking of meats overnight is prohibited.
  3. Hot coals must be doused and properly disposed of in specially designated Coal Cans to prevent fires. DO NOT MOVE COAL CANS.
  4. Fires built on the ground are prohibited. Fires are allowed in fire-proof containers only and must be attended.

Waste Management

  1. Dispose of all trash in trash receptacles or pack it out. No disposal of grease, coals or hazardous materials onto the grounds or into storm drains.
  2. Gray water/solid waste may be disposed of at the dump station located in l00d at the tennis courts – any other dumping on campus is strictly prohibited. Additional information will be supplied for a portable dump station for Sunday mornings.
  3. Do not allow fluids to run into another RV space. Control liquids or run off (air conditioners, swamp coolers, leaky ice chests, etc.) by using a bucket or re-routing appropriately.

Guests/Additional Parking

  1. The person(s) renting a RV space are responsible for the conduct of their guests.
  2. No parking accommodations are made for guests in this area and their vehicles will not be granted access to the lot. Guests to RV Lots must purchase parking spaces for vehicles in areas designated for public parking. Reserved guest parking on game days will be available in limited quantities for RV permit holders to purchase through Transportation Services Special Events prior to game day.


  1. Deliveries will be granted access to RV lots until 7:45pm on Friday and up to 3 hours prior to kick off on game weekends.
  2. Vehicles making deliveries will only be granted access to the lot 1 time. Also, the total number of vehicles in the lot at any given time along with the amount of time each vehicle will be allowed in the lot is restricted. If the lot is at capacity, vehicles will not be allowed to park at the entrance and will be asked to turn around and exit the lot until a vehicle, already granted access to the lot, leaves the lot.
  3. Delivery items are limited to things that cannot be carried by an individual. Delivery of people, pets or food (excluding restaurant delivery personnel) is not permitted.
  4. Vehicles such as Uber, Lyft or taxis will be permitted to pick up individuals at the lot entrance as long as they are in a marked vehicle or can produce their credentials.
