Sustainable Mobility Transportation Projects

Sustainability is about preserving the environment for future generations. By implementing and maintaining Sustainable Mobility projects, Texas A&M can become a world leader in environmental stewardship.

  1. New and/or replacement of fossil fuel state owned vehicles with battery electric state owned vehicles (BEV) or an equivalent technology with virtually zero emissions, including sedans, SUVs, medium duty trucks and other medium size vehicles not intended for public/mass transportation.
  2. New and/or replacement of state-owned battery electric public transportation vehicles or buses which are non-fossil fuel BEVs or an equivalent technology with virtually zero emissions, including buses, para transit and other large size vehicles intended for public/mass transportation.
  3. BEV electric or other appropriate charging systems for virtual zero-emission or future improved technology for these state-owned vehicles.
  4. Fee-based electric charging systems (primarily Level 3 for virtual zero-emission or future improved technology) for BEVs owned by A&M faculty, staff, students and visitors.
  5. Infrastructure projects and equipment to support the charging systems.
  6. Electrical or other resource supply for these systems that is required to be from 100% renewable sourcing (examples: solar, wind, hydroelectric)
