Customer Assistance Representative

Work Days/Times

Monday - Friday 8 am - 5 pm (Flexible hours, must have 3+ hour blocks)

Major/Essential Duties of Job

Customer service oriented position which includes providing answers to customer questions via phone, email and instant chat; cashiering, permit inventory, filing and other duties as needed. Starting salary will be $10 an hour. $15 an hour will be paid for working any special events. $18 an hour will be paid on Football game events only. May be eligible for priority registration as a student employee (Texas A&M students only). Preference will be given to students participating in the First-Gen High Impact Experience program offered through the Routh First-Generation Center. Learning Outcomes

• Customer Service - Provide accurate information to customers. Qualifications

Successful applicants will have strong people skills in addition to excellent verbal and written skills. Must have a valid driver's license. Applicants must be a registered student at either A&M, SHSU, or Blinn to apply and must provide summer/fall class schedule if already registered, or immediately upon registration. Students must be enrolled for a minimum of 9 hours per semester (excluding Summer Session) and able to work an average of 12 hours per week during the spring and fall semesters. Work during summer 2023 is required as our office is open even when class is not in session (between semesters, Spring Break, etc.). Must provide a resume

Preferred Qualifications

Spanish speaking skills are a plus, familiarity with Excel, ability to problem solve and interact with customers in a calm and focused manner. Ability to get along well with co-workers in a team environment.

Other Instructions

Please attach a graphic copy your 2023 Spring schedule (if available) and your resume in order to be considered for this position. Preference will be given to Freshmen, Sophomores and Juniors who have the best availability during the hours specified. Looking for individuals with a minimum of 3 hour blocks of availability during the requested times of Monday – Friday 7:45 am to 5 pm. Our office is open on days when class is not in session and students are expected to work during these times.

Salary

$10.00/hr (eligible for student employee pay plan)
